MicroBelt™ sensor power
(with Humdinger Wind Energy)
We want to power our sensors with wind, with a generator system that costs about as much as a single battery.
Solution: The microBelt, a unique membrane-based flow harvester that overcomes the limitations of turbines on the micro-scale. Applications in powering wireless sensor nodes in HVAC, environmental monitoring, and infrastructure. The embodied energy of a microBelt is the same as a single alkaline battery (and a single microBelt will displace a couple hundred batteries over its projected lifetime).
